i took wellbutrin, lexapro, and zoloft over two years(the medications were prescribed when one of them didnt work).there are different chemicals, and a different type of AD.
The risk of seizures with Wellbutrin is dose dependent - in other words, it becomes more of a risk with higher dosages of the medication.
Studies have shown that on 'normal' doses of Wellbutrin, the risk of seizures is actually LOWER than many other anti depressants.
Wellbutrin differs from Lexapro etc in that it affects dopamine and noradrenaline, rather than seratonin.
Yeah, they're different. Lexapro, Paxil, and Zoloft are SSRIs. Wellbutrin is not.
I took Wellbutrin for a short time, and I would not recommend using it. While taking it I got severely depressed, had HUGE panic attacks, and broke out in hives along with having a severely itchy head, feet, and hands. It did, however, help me to quit smoking for good. which was awesome. I would not take it due to the higher risk of seizures.
